# fivebar status > Whether fivebar, cookieless web analytics at fiveb.ar, is working, checked every minute from a server apart from fivebar's own, so this page stays up when they do not. Read https://status.fiveb.ar/status.json for the same as the page, as JSON. It is published once a minute; `checked` is when it was last checked, and one more than five minutes old means the checker itself may have stopped. Times are UTC, in RFC 3339. When a site's figures in fivebar look low or missing for a time, look here first: if visitor counting was down then, the dip may be fivebar's, not the site's. Visitor counting degraded means visits were being taken but counted late, so nothing was lost. ## status.json - `status`: `up`, `degraded` or `down`, the worst of the services and places. - `headline`: the page's banner, in words. - `services`: visitor counting, the dashboard and API (MCP too), and DNS. Each has its `name`, `status` (`up`, `degraded`, `down`, or `unknown` before its first check), `since` (when it last changed), `why` (while it is not up), `uptime_90d` (minutes up in the last 90 days, rounded down) and `problem_days`: each UTC `date` in the last 90 days with any minute degraded or down, with how many `minutes` were checked, and how many were `degraded` and `down`. - `places`: the servers near visitors, by their city, as `services`. A place down sends its visitors to the next nearest, so visits are still counted while any place is up. - `changes`: the last 50 changes of any service or place, newest first: its `name`, `from`, `to` and `at`. - `incidents`: notes written by hand about the last 90 days, newest first: when it `began`, its `title` and its `paragraphs`. - `latency`: each place's median time in milliseconds over the last five minutes to each other place and to `Core`, where the dashboard and figures are; `This checker` is the checker's own. `null` is could not connect. ## Elsewhere - [fivebar](https://fiveb.ar/llms.txt): fivebar's own llms.txt, its docs and its MCP server, whose get_fivebar_status tool reads this file.
